Payer/Managed Care Research

In addition to patients and healthcare providers, payers are a vital stakeholder in the health care marketplace. Payers are now routinely consulted to ensure a product will have, or will continue to have, the best possible level of access. This also means that even if a market research study is primarily focused on patients and/or healthcare providers, the fact they all operate in an environment influenced by payers must be kept in mind.

Description of Payer Services:

MarketVision offers a comprehensive array of payer marketing research and consulting services. These services span landscape studies, value proposition development & evaluation, pricing, contracting strategy and patent expiration strategy.

The payer insights team at MarketVision has well over a decade of experience conducting all phases of payer research spanning from product development in Phase I through post-marketing studies. While the primary focus is on the US and EU markets, the MarketVision payer insights team has experience with payer research in BRIC countries and other emerging markets.

Besides experience with health plans and PBMs, the payer insights team has examined the perspective of other stakeholders impacted by payers including physicians, other healthcare professionals, retail and hospital pharmacists, hospital department directors and office staff at private offices in group practices and hospitals. Other assignments include the evaluation of pull-through strategies, identification of which new product contenders to develop as part of portfolio management, rebate program development and evaluation as well as the ongoing impact of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on stakeholders.

Description of Payer Database:

MarketVision Research has an exclusive database of over 200 US payers. This opt-in database represents well over 200 million lives among a variety of payer organizations including national, regional and local health plans and PBMs. This includes specialty pharmacists and formulary decision makers at integrated health systems that may also be participating in an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). We have extensive background information on each of these payers and this file is updated on a routine basis.
