A great workplace is about more than the work we do; it's about the values we share and the opportunities to make a difference beyond our daily responsibilities. At MarketVision Research, our values of authenticity, thoughtfulness, and craftsmanship shape how we show up for our communities. I deeply appreciate MarketVision's genuine commitment to supporting the causes that matter most to employees.
For me, that cause is the American Cancer Society (ACS). My passion for fighting breast cancer began when my mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. After a courageous three-year battle, we lost her in December 2003, when I was eight years old.
My mom was the heart of our family. She had an incredible ability to bring people together, make others feel loved, and find joy in life's little moments. Losing her at such a young age shaped who I am today, including my lifelong commitment to giving back. My family found purpose in participating in breast cancer walks and raising funds, a commitment I carried into adulthood through organizing events and supporting survivors and thrivers through the ACS.
While my mom will always be at the center of my "why," my involvement has become about something bigger: honoring those we've lost, celebrating those who have survived, and supporting those who are still fighting.
One of the things that makes MarketVision special is that giving back isn't just encouraged; it's actively supported.
The company provides time annually for community service and backs employee passions through charitable donations and sponsorships. What makes this commitment especially meaningful is that MarketVision recognizes that giving back looks different for everyone. Employees are encouraged to support causes that reflect their own passions and experiences, knowing they have a company that values those commitments and is willing to stand behind them.
For the past several years, I've organized a MarketVision team for Cincinnati's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. MarketVision has consistently supported these efforts with generous contributions. Seeing coworkers take time out of their weekends to walk alongside me and contribute to a cause so close to my heart is a constant reminder of why our culture is so special.
Their support has allowed me to share something deeply special with the people I work with every day, and that's something I don't take for granted.
This year, my involvement expanded when I was selected as one of 15 Tastemakers for the ACS's Fork Cancer Cincinnati event. As a Tastemaker, I was challenged to raise funds and awareness in support of the American Cancer Society's mission: End cancer as we know it, for everyone. It was an opportunity to deepen my involvement with an organization that has been such an important part of my life while making an even greater impact in our community.
Once again, MarketVision stepped up as an event sponsor to support my fundraising efforts. With their backing and the generosity of many individuals, I raised over $8,000 and finished as the second runner-up for Tastemaker of the Year.
Having MarketVision stand behind me reinforced a core truth: when something matters to our people, it matters to the company.
Through my involvement with ACS, I've learned that making a difference doesn't always require a grand gesture. Sometimes it's volunteering a few hours, making a donation, showing up for a colleague, or simply lending your voice to a cause that matters.
Individually, these acts of kindness may seem small. Together, they can create a lasting impact.
That's what I value most about MarketVision's culture of service and giving. It's not simply about financial contributions or volunteer hours. It's about fostering an environment where employees feel encouraged to bring their whole selves to work, share what matters to them, and know they have the support of the people around them.
As we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, I'm reminded that behind every fundraiser are real families touched by cancer. My mom's legacy inspired me to give back, and having the support of MarketVision allows me to continue honoring her memory while making a meaningful difference.
I’m proud to work for an organization where giving back isn’t just encouraged; it’s a fundamental part of who we are.
